Jon Stewart roasts Trump’s pre-midterms Reflecting Pool speech

With the midterms imminent, what do we think Donald Trump was laser-focused on in one of his final speeches? The economy? The cost of living crisis? No! As Jon Stewart recaps in the Daily Show clip above, the president instead decided to waffle extensively about the renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool — including a moment where Trump described it as “a massive piece of…er, pool.”

“Just to be clear, that is not AI,” says Stewart. “That was not artificial intelligence or, really, I think you would agree, any kind of intelligence. That was the President of the United States, on the day before the midterms, choosing to make a speech at the Reflecting Pool — to talk about the Reflecting Pool. No symbolism, no metaphors, just straight up pool maintenance.

“That was Donald Trump’s ‘I had it cleaned’ speech, if you will.”
