Android 13 may not be as much of a blockbuster of an update as Android 12 was. Still, it should bring a much-needed wave of stability and refinement to last year’s newest elements while also introducing hair-raising behind-the-scenes changes for app developers. It ain’t half-bad, according to our Android 13 review. Whether you have your arms open wide or are bracing for impact, we’re working on getting answers as to when all the latest and greatest phones, but also older and more obscure devices, will get Android 13.
Google shot the starting pistol on Android 13’s rollout back in mid-August with stable builds now available for supported Pixel devices. The company has also updated the Android Open Source Project with the new version. Other Android manufacturers will be responsible for adapting the new software to their devices. That process will take some time, but a few plucky OEMs have been making their speedy efforts known. We’ll update this article with pertinent information on a periodic basis.
Asus
This Taiwanese tech brand offers beta programs for eager testers to try out new Android versions, but it hasn’t been too quick to push them through to the rest of the user base. Zenfone 8 and 9 users currently have access to an Android 13 beta program.

ZenFone
Google released Android 13 to its Pixel phones and the Android Open Source Project repository on August 15. And as goes Google, so should all the other OEMs. The update will be the last for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. They are only guaranteed to get updates until October 2022, with that month’s security patch being the last safe update for the devices.

The latest Pixel phones, the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro, will come with Android 13. You can grab the factory image for your device here and the OTA image here.
Motorola
Once a Google property, the Lenovo-owned manufacturer has fallen from grace in the software department. It’ll generally stick with two OS updates and two years of security patches for flagships, and possibly one OS bump for other devices.
Motorola’s UK customer service portal is listing devices that will be getting the Android 13 update. At the same time, its US customer service portal remains stuck on Android 12 updates.

Nokia (HMD Global)
This is another fallen star in terms of Android updates. In late memory, it’s had to delay Android 10 and 11 rollouts for certain devices. For Android 12, only one device on record was promised an OTA.
Nokia does have a developer preview on for the XR20. That device originally launched with Android 11 and also had an Android 12 developer preview program.

OnePlus (Global)
Oppo-owned OnePlus has been slowing down in terms of rushing Android pulses out to its phones. Part of it is a function of the recent codebase merger between OxygenOS and ColorOS. Supposedly, things should be more efficient once the developer teams get settled in. We’re crossing our fingers.
The company released its first stable release of OxygenOS 13 for the OnePlus 10 Pro on September 21. The OnePlus 10T, currently in beta testing, will follow. We have the official list of devices below.

Oppo
Speaking of OxygenOS 13, OnePlus corporate parent Oppo began pushing out ColorOS 13 on August 18. The Find X5 and Find X5 Pro were scheduled to receive the update first. This month, owners of the Find X3 Pro and Reno 8 Pro 5G are due to get it. Other Reno 8 series devices as well as the Reno 7 series, the F21 Pro, the K10 5G, the A77 5G, and the A76 will see their pushes in October.
We won’t be listing specific models in this section since we’re focusing on availability in North America, but we’ll keep things updated here as developments come along.
Samsung
The world’s largest Android phone maker has stepped up its software update commitments over the past few years. More devices are getting more OS updates and more security updates for longer. The company’s planning four OS updates and five years of security patches for its 2022 releases.
Android 13 will be paired with One UI 5.0 on Galaxy devices. You can preview what it’ll look like with our extensive beta review. Open beta programs are now up and running for the Galaxy S22 series of devices in the United States. More devices may be on the beta in other regions. Intelligence indicates that the last two years’ worth of Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices as well as the Galaxy A53 are due to receive the update by year’s end in some regions.

It may be time to update
As we update this list, we may modify our scope to cover more OEMs in other areas and their device portfolios specific to those regions. For now, if you don’t see your device on our list, stay tuned. If you own an older phone or know you’re not getting an Android 13 update, it may be time to upgrade to one of the best Android phones. Of course, you can just grab the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro, too, if you want Android 13 right out of the box.
Google Pixel 7 Pro

Google’s Pixel 7 Pro refines the Pixel experience after the 6 Pro’s initial stumbles last year, improving stability and taking the camera prowess to new levels with image fusing and 4K60fps video on all cameras. 30W fast charging and Pixel’s addictive features like automatic Call screening and Pixel recorder help make the Pixel 7 Pro an alluring phone even as an iterative update.

Google didn’t reinvent the wheel with the Pixel 7, but they didn’t need to. With improved cameras, the next-gen Tensor 2 chipset, and Google’s wonderfully feature-filled software, the Pixel 7 earns its price tag handily again this year.
