Hands up if you know what CAVIL means? Not me, but it’s apparently “to raise trivial and frivolous objection”. However, it has appeared in Quordle before, I think, so was familiar enough to me that I was able to spot its presence in today’s puzzle. Others among you may not have been so lucky, and even if you were, you may instead have been tripped up by VIOLA or the rather informal GONER. Either way, there was plenty to beware of here.
