I found the best app to control Fire TV Stick using my Android phone and I’m not going back

If you have ever tried to sideload an app or manage files on a Fire TV Stick using nothing but the stock remote, you know how tedious the process can be.

Between the clunky on-screen keyboard and the limited navigation, it often feels like a chore rather than a convenience.

That all changed when I came across Easy Fire Tools. It’s a powerful Android utility that transforms how you interact with your streaming device.

Here is how Easy Fire Tools turns your phone into a high-speed command center.

7 features I check before buying a streaming device

Consider these features before buying your next streaming device

Why do I need Easy Fire TV, anyway?

The standard Fire TV remote is fine for scrolling through Netflix, but the second you try to do something extra, it becomes a massive bottleneck.

I can’t tell you how many times I have sat there, used that cumbersome on-screen keyboard in Downloader to install an app.

I finally reached my breaking point last week while trying to sideload a new media player. I knew there had to be a way to let my Android phone do the heavy lifting.

That’s when I stumbled onto Easy Fire Tools, and within five minutes of setting it up, I knew I was never going back to the old way. However, the first-time setup can be time-consuming.

You need to head to the advanced network settings in your Fire TV Stick Settings menu and note down the IP address. Now, you need to navigate the Easy Fire Tools menu and enter the same IP address.

Now, you are all set to connect your Fire TV Stick with the Easy Fire Tool. Just make sure that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, tap the connect icon in the upper-right corner, and you’re good to go.

When I say this app is a power user’s dream, I’m talking about the features that actually save my time. The crown jewel here is the one-tap sideloading.

Before, I wanted a third-party app, I would have to open a browser on the TV, hunt for a download link with a clunky cursor, and hope the file was compatible.

Now, if I have the app or the APK file on my phone, I just open Easy Fire Tools, and transfer it to my streaming device with a couple of taps. It beams the APK directly to my Fire TV Stick and installs it in the background while I’m still scrolling on my phone.

I can browse the Fire TV’s internal storage, move movie files around, or delete those massive cache folders that build up over time.

Being able to copy-paste from my phone’s storage to the TV’s storage without using a cloud drive or a USB stick is a luxury I didn’t know I needed.

Thanks to Easy Fire Tools, whenever I want to test a new IPTV service or an IPTV player, I no longer need to deal with Downloader or a third-party browser.

Instead, I download the APK file on my Android phone, and within minutes, it’s right there on my Fire TV Stick.

Also, my Fire TV Stick only has 8GB of storage, which is less after a few years of accumulated cache.

Whenever my Fire TV Stick shutters or feels slow, I don’t use the native way to uninstall apps and games. I head to Easy Fire Tools, open the apps menu, uninstall irrelevant options, and get back my precious storage in no time.

The ability to take screenshots and video capture is another neat add-on on Easy Fire Tools. When my parents run into some trouble on their Fire TV Stick, I can simply take a screenshot using the app, add an arrow, and send it over WhatsApp.

I don’t even need to describe what a specific icon looks like. Sometimes, I even take a video of myself navigating to the fix.

Fire TV Stick on steroids

For me, Easy Fire Tools isn’t just another utility app — it’s the missing piece of the Fire TV puzzle. It’s lightweight, free, and replaces a dozen tedious steps with a single tap on your Android screen.

While the stock remote is fine for basic browsing, this app is essential for anyone who wants a better streaming setup.

Whether you are a power user sideloading the latest build of Kodi or just someone tired of managing apps on their Fire TV Stick, this app is a total game-changer.

If you are new to the Fire TV Stick, check out these apps to get the best out of your latest purchase.
