Motorola used to release slab-style flagship phones in the US, but that’s no longer the case. While the company still offers foldable models, including the Razr (2026), it no longer sells a conventional flagship to match the Galaxy S26 Ultra or the Google Pixel 11 series.
That’s not to say the company doesn’t make flagships. Motorola announced the Signature earlier this year, but skipped a US launch. We’re now seeing early indications that this could change with the successor.
Motorola has been slowly building hype for the Signature 27’s arrival over the past couple of days across its global websites. While this would typically mean nothing for the US market, the folks over at Android Authority appear to have grabbed a screenshot of a pop-up on the Motorola US website, accompanied by the words “A new perspective is coming” (via 9to5Google).
The US market could use a new slab-style flagship
While the banner is no longer up on the Motorola US website, its appearance, even if brief, strongly suggests a US launch could be on the horizon. That said, we must also consider the possibility that this was a company error, and we could be reading too much into the flagship’s brief appearance on the Motorola US website.
Meanwhile, GSMArena spotted traces of the “Crystals by Swarovski” branding on one banner, though no visuals are available yet. A Swarovski-branded phone wouldn’t be uncharacteristic for Motorola considering its recent Razr release.
The Motorola Signature arrived in several global markets earlier this year, featuring a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, and a massive 5,200mAh battery pack that supports 90W fast wired charging. The flagship also includes a 50MP wide sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto unit, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor, complemented by a 50MP front camera.
Storage variants range from 256GB to 1TB, and the company also offers 12GB or 16GB RAM options. The Signature launched with Android 16 out of the box, with Motorola promising seven Android updates. To make the deal even sweeter, the manufacturer has managed to cram IP68-IP69 dust and water protection into the Signature, while it’s also MIL-STD-810H compliant.
With that in mind, we think the Signature 27 would be a great fit for the US market and a decent alternative to Google and Samsung’s high-end offerings.
Going by the first-gen Signature’s release date, we suspect the next-generation model won’t arrive for a few more months.
