Fall Guys Is Getting An Official Godzilla Costume

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is getting another guest costume on November 3, and this one’s a famous, beloved screen monster. Godzilla is coming to the game for Godzilla Day (also November 3, the release date of the 1954 original), a day dedicated to celebrating the legacy of Japan’s favorite kaiju.

The costume will cost 10 crowns, so you’ll either want to have some saved up or earn a few before then if you’re a fan of the series. It’s a cartoonier take on the character, as befitting the game–a version of Godzilla that served as a grim reminder of the cost of nuclear warfare might not have suited Fall Guys, as great as those movies are.

You can check out the costume below before deciding if you want to buy it once it’s available.

Lora Cohn, managing director of Toho International, said in a press release that the company is “thrilled to collaborate with Mediatonic” on this use of their character. “Now, players will get to celebrate Godzilla Day in such a unique way by putting on the Godzilla suit and stomping their way to victory!”

Jeff Tanton, vice president of creative at Mediatonic, also believes that Godzilla is a natural fit for the game. “There are many parallels to be drawn between the mighty Godzilla and an average Fall Guy: they are both fiercely competitive, they battle on an international stage with incredibly high stakes, they always get back up after being knocked down, and according to worrying reports from our social media channels, they are both much taller than you’d expect.”

The most recent Godzilla game, simply titled Godzilla, released on PS4 and PS3 in 2015. It was, unfortunately, quite terrible. If you want a way to celebrate Godzilla Day outside of games, and you’ve already seen the original, we recommend Hideaki Anno’s 2016 masterpiece Shin Godzilla.

Fall Guys is in Season 2 now, and its new playlist, Slime Survivor, is absolute madness.
