Godfall Won’t Require The Latest Hardware For PC

November 2, 2020

Godfall is one of the PlayStation 5’s big launch titles, but it is also coming to PC when it releases on November 12. Considering the power that the next-generation console brings to the table, you might have expected the requirements for the PC port to be similarly demanding, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Counterplay Games has revealed the minimum and recommended requirements for Godfall, neither of which will require the most cutting-edge GPUs from Nvidia or AMD. If you have a respectfully powerful system that is just a handful of years old, you should be good to go for Godfall’s mix of melee action and looting.

If you’re on Nvidia’s side of the fence for your GPU, Counterplay recommends a GTX 1080Ti, notable for its 11GB of VRAM which might factor into texture settings. On AMD’s side, Godfall will prefer a RX 5700 XT, featuring only 8GB of VRAM. Whether you’re using Intel or AMD for your CPU, you’ll be able to get by on current and past generation chips, with the AMD Ryzen 3600 and Intel Core i7-8700 listed.

Check out the full specifications below:

Minimum

  • OS: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 1600
  • Memory: 12GB
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB / Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB

Recommended

  • OS: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 3600
  • Memory: 16GB
  • GPU: AMD RX 5700 XT 8GB / Nvidia GTX 1080Ti 11GB

If you are in the market for a PC upgrade, now is the perfect time to wait a few weeks. AMD is launching its Zen 3-powered Ryzen 5000 series CPUs this week, before it launches its RDNA 2-powered RX 6000 GPUs later in November. Nvidia just launched the RTX 3070 on the heels of the RTX 3080 and 3090, but you might find it difficult to find any in stock.
