We gained word that Xiaomi was working on a set of new high-end tablets back in May. Now, a Xiaomi tablet believed to be the Mi Pad 5 has passed through the FCC.
Judging by the FCC listing, this particular tablet (model number 21051182G) will pack 22.5W charging support and run MIUI 12.5 out of the box. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the device also packs Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi support. There’s no mention of NFC, though.
Interestingly, “WPT” is mentioned in the listing, suggesting the device could pack wireless power transfer capabilities. This would be a pretty helpful tool to have on a tablet with a large battery. This also indicates the tablet would support wireless charging, although this isn’t specified.

There’s no evidence that the tablet supports mobile networks. This could be specific to this model, as previous tips suggest some forthcoming Xiaomi tablets will include voice support.
Finally, the device’s label doesn’t provide an exact storage figure, but three digits are marked with crosses, suggesting that the slate could launch with at least 128GB at hand.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5: What else do we know?
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this particular Xiaomi tablet passing through a certification agency. In June, 21051182G visited the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECC), revealing fewer details but confirming an upcoming Xiaomi slate.
Previous leaks also suggested that three Xiaomi tablets will arrive this year, namely model numbers K81, K81A, and K82. It’s unclear if 21051182G is related to K82, but if it is, we can expect this tablet to feature a Snapdragon 855, 855 Plus, or 860 SoC, an 11-inch display, and an 8,720mAh battery based on information previously garnered by XDA.
There’s no word on when the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series will debut. The company hasn’t outed a new tablet series in some three years, allowing rival manufacturers like Samsung to fill the void in the market. However, judging by the recent listings at global certification agencies, the Korean manufacturer could soon have some competition.
